The mouse seems to be recognized just fine: I'm having an odd problem.

I have the same issue as you: Sometimes a particular library doesn't work well with your device and you may need to uninstall a driver make sure you have a regular USB mouse just in case or av the device to register with a different driver via Xorg. Ask Ubuntu works best with JavaScript enabled.
But, if I plug in my Adesso Cirque Touchpad USB directly into laptop, it does not work -- the cursor does not move nor do the button click. Does anyone know how to tell if the correct drivers are loaded into the kernel?
There are 2 models of this Glidepoint touchpad: For mice this tends to toucjpad handled by Xorg since most of the time a mouse is used with a GUI unless you are using gpm or something similar. Post as a guest Name. The UB apparently doesn't work at all. Is there anything I'm missing?

It looks like there are two models of USB versions of this touchpad. I'm running Lucid Lynx. I'm using a cirque easycat ub usb touchpad. One unusual thing is that I notice this in the syslog: Home Questions Tags Users Unanswered.

It appears to be recognized e. The Cirque Corporation touchpad I'm assuming that's the component name is the touchpad. I also get the same continual usb reset messages in my dmesg. I'm on Natty Narwhal.

Typically input devices are handled by kernel modules or support is built into the kernel directly. It also shows up in gpointing-device-settings. I bought a small touchpad to stick on top of the keyboard, and it works fine on the windows computer, but not on my ubuntu desktop. Is there any way to get this Touvhpad touchpad working? By the way, the touchpad is identified differently: I managed to get my hands on the U version an older version and it works fine, including the side scrolling scrollwheel simulation.
